The purpose and mission of Career Services is to assist undergraduates and alumni with the career development process and empower them to proactively identify, plan and implement successful lifelong career strategies. By providing necessary training, information and resources, we believe students will identify interests early within their college years, make informed decisions about career goals and begin preparing for future career and/or graduate school pursuits. By utilizing our services, students will receive assistance with self-assessment, career exploration and planning, interview preparation, resume writing and applying to graduate school. We advocate a progressive approach to career planning which is built upon self-assessment, exploration, evaluation and action, which is detailed within Coker’s Four-Year Career Development Plan.
