3 – 2 – 1, also known as Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM), is a Christian organization that worships together much like you would expect at a Sunday morning worship service. The group often has a meal at their meeting along with musical worship, band performances and a speaker. All denominations are welcomed to their meetings held every Monday night at 7:45 pm. |

Ambassadors
Ambassadors are the student volunteers who assist in new student recruitment. They give tours, help with Open House events, and host prospective students who stay for over night visits. |

Art Club
The Art Club of Coker College has a simple plan of expanding the college’s as well as the community’s appreciation of art. No artistic skill is required to become a member; one just needs to have a love for art. |

Campus Crusade for Christ
Campus Crusade for Christ members meet every Tuesday. The student lead meetings include singing and a Bible study followed by a group discussion. The lesson plan and discussion is run by alternating members of the organization at each meeting. |

Coker College Groove Thang
Coker College Groove Thang hopes to increase the visibility of the Coker Dance program and its activities on campus and in the community. They strive to support continuing education in dance. Any student that is interested in dance is welcomed to join. |

Coker College Union
Coker College Union, more commonly known as CCU, is responsible for campus programming and entertainment. They implement activities for welcome week, ranging from comedy nights to giant banana split night. CCU’s efforts bring musicians, speakers, novelty events, and traditional celebrations such as Crew Race Carnival and Bandfest. All students are welcome to join this programming board that whose goal is to involve campus-wide input in their planning of events. Meetings are held every Thursday at 11 am in Davidson 110. |

Coker Players
Coker Players promotes the appreciation and the involvement in the theatrical arts. In the past they have held impromptu performance in front of local businesses, sponsored open mic nights at the Midnight Rooster (local coffee shop), and one act plays. One of their newer events that have become very popular on campus is their annual Masquerade Party held in the Cobra Den. They plan on traveling to New York during spring break this year in conjunction with Groove Thang to go to various Broadway shows. Coker Players is open to all students. |

Commissioners
The Commissioner group was founded in 1924 and is the oldest group on campus. The Commissioners help the freshmen adjusted to college life and serve as their family away from home. The Commissioners socialize with their families throughout the year holding special events and sending them notes of encouragement in the mail. The Commissioners wear plaid during Orientation which besides being a visible indicator of their Commissioner status, their plaid is representative of how each member of the group is interconnected with all the others. Look for these folks during Orientation as they help the new students move in; always a parent favorite. |

Education Club
The Education Club was formed in September of 2003. This group of students, in conjunction with members of the Education Department, work to foster fellowship among future teachers and to promote the teaching profession on campus. This group also provides extra curricular activities that enhance the study of education. |

Excursions
Excursions, Coker College’s Literary Magazine, produces a yearly collection of the literary works of Coker students. Any student can submit poetry or prose for acceptance into the magazine. |

The Hartsville Evening & Extended Studies Program (H.E.E.S.P.)
The Hartsville Evening & Extended Studies Program (H.E.E.S.P.) exsists to provide representation for Coker’s Hartsville campus Evening students. They help provide a voice of the evening school students and serve as a link between those students and the College administration. The H.E.E.S.P. sponsor activities and events that encourage camaraderie and promote feelings of loyalty to the College amongst the evening school students. |

International Student Organization
The International Student Organization was founded by students who wanted to bring together students from foreign counties together and to share each others’ different backgrounds. This group also serves to educate and give other students that are not from another country an idea about the different cultures, languages, and ethnicity of individuals around the Coker College campus. |

Milestone
The Milestone staff works hard all year, collecting and organizing photographs and stories for Coker’s yearbooks. The Milestone annual has been published since 1913 and is a completely student run publication. Those students desiring to become an Editor or a contributing member are not required to have any prior experience, just a willingness to learn the necessary skills. Creative minds are always welcome. |

Omicron Delta Kappa
Coker College’s Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa was chartered on May 3 of 2003. This national leadership honor society recognizes those who have exhibited a high standard of leadership in one of the five major phases of campus life as described by the national ODK office. The Coker Circle holds an educational forum each semester involving professors and students in pedagogical discussion. Forum titles have included, “A Twisted Road to War” a discussion on how the United States became involved and our role in the War on Iraq and also “From Baghdad to the Ballot Box: War, Women and the Presidential Election” a presentation of the Presidential Candidates and their platforms with a special in depth look at the only female candidate in the running. |

The Pan African Sisters Association, also known as PASA, is a new and improved organization. The goal of PASA is to establish a network of support and understanding and to promote unity of minority women at Coker College. |

Periscope
The Periscope is Coker College’s student run newspaper. Their goal is to inform, educate and make know issues important to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public. Papers are scheduled to be printed and distributed every other week during a given semester. All students are encouraged to submit letters to the editor and make contributions to the newspaper to enhance its quality even if they are not a reporter for the paper. |

Phi Sigma Iota
Phi Sigma Iota is the international language honor society which was chartered on campus in the Spring of 2003. Membership is made up of advanced undergraduate students in the fields of foreign language, foreign language education, comparative literature, linguistics, and second language acquisitions. Members are required to be of Junior or Senior standing and major or minor in one of the above fields in addition to maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for installation. |

Psi Chi is another one of Coker’s national honor societies. Psi Chi’s purpose is to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology and to advance in the science of psychology. |

Residence Hall Association (RHA)
The Residence Hall Association is a student group committed to improving the quality of life in the residence halls. The group plans monthly activities for Floor Wars - a competition between residence hall floors, holds weekly meetings to receive student input on conditions in the residence halls, and raises money for an end of the year project to benefit residential students. Previous end of the year projects has included peepholes in all room doors and hand trucks for students to use on move-in day. |

Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Club
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics club, more commonly called the S.T.e.M Club is a reincarnation of a previously science geared organization. The purpose of the S.T.e.M Club is to make students (science majors and non-science majors) aware of science related activities that take place at Coker as well as off campus. This group also endeavors to bring various speakers to campus. |

Social Work Student Association (SWSA) is a professional organization of social work students designed to allow other interested students to become familiar with the social work profession opportunities within the field. Beyond helping social work majors better understand the profession, this organization also collaborates with agencies in the Hartsville area for community service projects. |

Student Government Association
The Student Government Association is the umbrella organization that encompasses all of the Registered Student Organizations. This governing body of students is unlike other college SGAs in that its flow of information comes from the students via three separate councils being the Class Council, RSO President’s Council, and the Evening School and Commuter Council.
