Hartsville: A Hamlet of History, Heritage and Hospitality

Hartsville is a mid-sized, progressive community incorporated in 1891. Located in Darlington County in northeast South Carolina (the Pee Dee), near the intersection I-95 and I-20, Hartsville is 90 miles from Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand; 75 miles from the state capital, Columbia; and 80 miles from Charlotte, NC.

A friendly atmosphere, traditional neighborhoods, convenient shopping and dining, and a choice of hotels and B&Bs make Hartsville a great place to live or visit.

In 1996, Hartsville was selected an All-America City by the AllState Foundation and the National Civic League. All-America City status is awarded to 10 cities a year that demonstrate strong and successful civic programs that enhance the quality of life in their communities. Hartsville is also recognized as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
