Grannis
Residence Hall
Grannis
was built in 1969 and is named for longtime faculty member Dr. Valleria
Grannis. It is adjacent to Coker Residence Hall and the William Chambers
Coker Science Building. A completely remodeled Grannis re-opened in Fall
2005 after a $3 million renovation financed by a state-approved educational
facilities improvement bond.
Each
living space in Grannis is now comprised of four separate bedrooms adjoining
a shared sitting room and large bathroom. The bedrooms are equipped with
cable TV and Internet connections and climate control. The sitting room
also has a cable connection and separate climate control. Every floor
has a resident assistant’s room, a single handicap accessible room
and a laundry room. The second, third and fourth floors also have study
lounges, while the first floor has a large room that can be used for classes
or meetings.
