Coker Comes Up Just Short
Hartsville, SC – Coker came up short Saturday afternoon in its bid to end a current six game losing streak. The Cobras were unable to establish any sort of rhythm and were shutout 1-0 by Pfeiffer University in women’s collegiate soccer. CC falls to 6-8 on the year and 3-6 in the conference, while the Falcons improve to 6-7-2 and 4-2 in the CVAC.
Carolyn Mueller freed herself in front of the Coker net and redirected the ball to score the contest’s lone goal unassisted. The goal scored in the 28th minute of the first half was all the Falcons would need in holding off the Cobras. Coker had ample scoring opportunities, but was denied on all 10 shots by Falcon goal keeper Mary-Kathryn Mason.
Sophomore Jacque Stewart played the full 90 minutes recording three saves, one of which came on a penalty shot.
The Cobras host Wingate University Monday, October 27, at 7:00 P.M.
