Coker Knocked Out Of CVAC Tournament
BANNER ELK, NC – Coker bowed out of the CVAC Tournament Saturday morning with a 3-0 loss to top-seed Lees-McRae in collegiate volleyball. The eighth-seeded Cobras put up a good fight but didn’t have enough to overcome the Bobcats, and finish the year with a 14-18 record.
Coker matched LMC point-for-point in all three sets but each time the Bobcats pulled away in the end. Lees-McRae won the first set 30-23, took the second 30-24, and ended the match with a 30-27 third set win.
Sophomore Andrea Manuel led CC with 15 kills and 15 digs, and senior Selena Davis added eight kills, 10 digs and three block assists. Freshman Tara Nelson contributed three kills, 30 assists, 15 digs and four block solos, and classmate Nicole Schaum added 11 digs.
