Cobras Earn 3-1 Road Victory
SPARTANBURG, SC – The Coker College volleyball team defeated Converse 3-2 Tuesday night to get its first win of the season. The Cobras defeated the All-Stars 30-25, 25-30, 30-18, and 30-28 in the victory and improve to 1-1 on the year.
Seniors Frederica McClary and Selena Davis led the charge with big nights in attack. Davis led the team with 14 kills and eight digs, while McClary contributed 13 kills, two blocks and seven digs. Sophomore Andrea Manuel put together another outstanding all-around effort with 12 kills, 14 digs, four aces and one block.
Keying the Cobras attack again was freshman setter Tara Nelson. Nelson finished with three kills, 31 assists, and a team-best 15 digs.
Coker hits the road again this Friday, September 5, to face Pfeiffer University at 6:30 PM.
