Cobras Sweep Crusaders 3-0

HARTSVILLE, SC – The Coker College volleyball team swept conference rival Belmont Abbey College 3-0 Tuesday night in women’s collegiate volleyball.  The Cobras improve to 12-16 and 3-11 in the CVAC while the Crusaders drop to 9-18 and 3-12 in conference.   

After winning the first set 30-25, Coker faced a set point, 29-27 in the second.  After already coming back from a 26-21 deficit, the Cobras regrouped and reeled off four consecutive points to steal set two.

Freshmen setter Tara Nelson lead the Cobra attack with 32 assists, 25 digs, four block assists, and one block solo.  Senior Selena Davis contributed 10 kills, nine digs, and five block assists while classmate Frederica McClary pounded 15 kills. 

Senior Jessica McKee added 14 digs for the Cobras while winning four consecutive points on serve to rally the Cobras back in game two.  Senior Lindsey Bocskay had a strong match with five kills, seven assists, and three service aces.

Coker is right back in action tomorrow, Wednesday, October 29th, when they host conference opponent Barton College.  Action is set to begin at 6:30 P.M.
