David Hanna has been head softball coach at Coker since 1992 and
has the second highest winning percentage in the nation among active NCAA Division II
coaches. Hanna has compiled a record of 470-100-1 for a winning percentage of .824.
Hanna has led the Cobras to post-season play in
10 of his 12 years at Coker,
including appearances in the 1998 NCAA II National Finals and the 1995 NAIA National
Tournament.
Hanna was named the 1998 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Softball
Coach-of-the-Year and also earned Carolinas Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors in 1992
and 1993. He was named NAIA District 26 Coach-of-the-Year in 1993 and 1994. Coker has won
eight conference championships under Hanna.
In addition to coaching the Cobras
softball team, he serves as the Assistant Athletic Director.
