Chris
Ayer was named head coach of the Coker College women's soccer team in May of
2002 and took control of the men's program in the Spring of 2003. Ayer, a native of Columbia, played collegiate soccer at Libscomb
University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ayer spent two years as an assistant
coach for the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Lipscomb.
Ayer graduated from Lipscomb in 1999 after a two-year playing career for the
Bison and remained there as an assistant coach while obtaining his Masters
of Education degree in instructional leadership.
As an assistant at Lipscomb, Ayer was responsible for much of the
recruiting and for the training program for the men’s and women’s teams. As
a player he was named team captain during his senior season and helped lead
Lipscomb to its most successful season in school history.
Ayer currently holds a USSF
"B" license.
