Coker Comes Back To Win OT Thriller

Hartsville, SC – The Coker College Men’s Soccer Team played its most impressive match of the season Saturday, defeating Mt. Olive College 3-2 in overtime.  The senior day atmosphere energized the Cobras as they played their most heartfelt, aggressive soccer in weeks.  Coker finishes the season 2-12-1 and 2-8 in the CVAC, while the Trojans drop to 7-8-4, and 2-5-3 in conference.

 

Coker Overmatched At Queens

Charlotte, NC – A promising first half against heavily favored Queens University of Charlotte was no indication of the outcome as the Cobras fell 5-1 to Queens University in men’s collegiate soccer.  The loss drops the Cobras record to 1-12-1 on the season while the Royals improve to 12-2.

 

Late Goals Finish Coker

Hartsville, SC – Coker stayed with Lees-McRae for most of the match Saturday afternoon in a 4-1 defeat in men’s college soccer.  The Cobras were tied or trailing by one goal for three-fourths of the match but a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes ended any chance for a comeback.  Coker drops to 1-11-1 on the year and 1-7 in the CVAC, while the Bobcats improve to 9-4, 6-1 in conference.

 

Coker Falls At Erskine

Due West, SC – Coker fell 4-0 at Erskine College Saturday afternoon in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras drop to 1-10-1 overall and 1-6 in the CVAC, while the Flying Fleet improve to 2-9-1 and 1-5-1 in conference.

 

Cobras Can't Overcome Crusaders

Hartsville, SC – The Coker College men’s soccer team was unable to establish any momentum Wednesday night in a 3-0 shutout to Belmont Abbey College.  The loss drops the Cobras overall record to 1-9-1 and 1-5 in the CVAC, while the Crusaders improve to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference.

 

Coker Drops Homecoming Match In OT

Hartsville, SC – Coker dropped an excruciating match 2-1 in double overtime to Anderson on Homecoming Saturday in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras fall to 1-8-1 on the season and 1-4 in the CVAC, while Anderson improves to 1-9-1 overall and 1-3-1 in conference.

 

Coker Downs Limestone In OT

Gaffney, SC – Coker went into double overtime to collect its first victory of the season, 3-2 over Limestone in men’s collegiate soccer.  With the win the Cobras improve to 1-7-1 on the year and 1-3 in the CVAC, while the Saints drop to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in the conference.

 

Coker Falls To Barton 1-0

Wilson, NC – Coker played a solid match at Barton Saturday afternoon but came out on the wrong end of a 1-0 final score in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras fall to 0-7-1 on the year and 0-3 in the conference, while Barton improves to 2-2-2 and 2-0-1 in the CVAC.

 

Cobras Edged By St. Andrews

Hartsville, SC – The Coker College Men’s collegiate soccer team was outlasted by St Andrews College 3-1 Wednesday evening.  Coker tied the score at 1-1 midway through the contest.  The Cobras couldn’t account for two unanswered goals by the Knights later on in the contest which proved to be the overall difference.  CC drops to 0-6-1 on the season, while St Andrews improves to 4-4.

 

Coker Falls In Offensive Shootout

Hartsville, SCCoker fell short in an offensive showcase Monday night, falling to Newberry 6-3 in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras answered the Indians goal for goal through 68 minutes before the offensive outburst dried up.  CC drops to 1-5-1 on the season, while Newberry improves to 5-1.

 

Coker Plays Well In Defeat

HARTSVILLE, SC – Coker played a solid match in a 2-0 loss to Francis Marion Saturday afternoon in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras drop to 0-4-1 on the year while the Patriots improve to 4-0.

 

Coker Falls To UNC-Pembroke

Hartsville, SC – The Coker defense held up well for a half but wilted under the constant barrage of the UNC-Pembroke attack in the second period and fell 6-0 in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras drop to 0-3-1 on the year while UNCP improves to 4-0.

 

Cobras Lose In Overtime

HARTSVILLE, SC – Coker went to overtime for the second game this season but fell 2-1 to Pfeiffer University in men’s collegiate soccer.  The Cobras battled gamely with nine men on the field due to two second-half ejections in a whistle-filled affair.  CC falls to 0-2-1 overall and 0-1 in the CVAC, while Pfeiffer improves to 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference.

 

Coker Falters At Wingate

Wingate, NC - The Bulldogs won their 12th match in a row (dating to last season) in the afternoon’s second match, a 6-3 victory over Coker College. Wingate sophomore forward Robert Dawson had three goals for the winners. The 2002 South Atlantic Conference “freshman of the year,” Dawson has five goals on the season.

 

Cobras Tie Lenoir-Rhyne 2-2

Wingate, NC - The Coker College and Lenoir-Rhyne College men’s soccer teams battled to a 2-2 tie in two overtimes in the Wingate University Soccer Classic. Both teams were playing their season opener.
