   John Handrigan was named head coach of the Cobras golf program in August 2003. Handrigan comes to Coker from St. Francis University in Pennsylvania, where he was the top assistant for the men’s golf team for the past three years.  Handrigan graduated from St. Francis in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University in 2002.

   As an assistant at St. Francis, Handrigan was involved in the recruitment and retention of student athletes, and instructed both groups and individuals on golfing techniques, etiquette, and course management.  He also prepared tournaments and led the team when traveling to collegiate matches. 

   Handrigan, a native of Bracebridge, Ontario, is a member of the Canadian Professional Golf Association and competed in several Ontario Tour events in 2002.  As a student athlete at St. Francis, Handrigan earned All-Conference and St. Francis Golfer of the Year all four years he competed.  He was named Student Male Athlete of the Year by the University as a senior, and twice earned Academic Honor Roll.
