Cobras Fall In Five Sets To Pfeiffer
MISENHEIMER, NC – Coker played its second five-set match this week but came out on the wrong end this time, falling 23-30, 30-28, 30-24, 26-30, and 10-15 to Pfeiffer University Friday night in collegiate volleyball. The Cobras drop their first conference game of the season and now stand at 4-2, 2-1, while the Falcons improve to 6-6 overall and 4-0 in the CVAC.
Junior Andrea Manuel/Spartanburg, SC led CC with 10 kills and 17 digs on the night. Freshman Jessica Norton/Rochester, MI tallied nine kills and five block assists, and sophomore Ashley Schaum/Irmo, SC led defensively with 18 digs. Setter Tara Nelson/Rochester Hills, MI finished with 45 assists and 12 digs in the loss.
Coker faces a quick turnaround, hosting Armstrong Atlantic State and Converse College in a Tri-Match on Saturday, September 18. The Pirates and All-Stars face off at noon, followed by Coker vs. Armstrong at 2:00 PM and finally Coker vs. Converse at 5:00 PM.
