Shaver Shines In 2-0 Win
GAFFNEY, SC – Coker snapped a two game skid with a 2-0 victory at Limestone College Saturday afternoon in women’s collegiate soccer. The Cobras improve to 4-2 on the year and 2-1 in the CVAC, while LC drops to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in conference.
Coker’s prolific striker Megan Shaver was at it again, scoring both goals for CC. Shaver connected in the 20th minute on an assist by freshman Andrea Bustamante, and the duo hooked up again 64 seconds later to put the Cobras up 2-0. Sophomore Jacque Stewart earned her second shutout of the season in the win.
Shaver now has nine goals for 18 points on the year, while Bustamante has recorded four goals and three assists for 11 points.
Coker will travel to Columbia College to try for their fifth win this Tuesday, September 30, at 4:00 PM.
