Cobras Defeated At USC-Aiken

Aiken, SC -- Coker was defeated 6-2 in a non-conference match up with USC-Aiken Thursday night in women's collegiate soccer. The Cobras had a 2-1 lead at the half but gave up five unanswered goals in the second period. Coker drops to 1-3, 1-2 in the CVAC, while Pacers move to 3-6.

Junior's Jodi Rummel and Cara Wilkerson teamed up twice in the first half to put Coker in the lead after trailing 1-0. Rummel scored first in the 36th minute and then in the 40th minute with both assists coming from Wilkerson. However, Rummel sustained a serious leg injury in the 61st minute and was taken off the field. The Cobras were down 3-2 at that point but could not recover from the blow.

Coker returns home this Saturday, September 22 to face Anderson. The crucial conference match is scheduled to begin at 6 PM.
