Coker Falls At Wingate
Wingate, NC – Wingate University placed four players in double figures, achieving its second-highest scoring output of the season en route to an 89-50 women’s college basketball win over Coker College in the 2003 Miller Orthopaedic Clinic Invitational.
Invitational MVP Jessica Guarneri led Wingate (9-2 overall)
with 16 points and nine rebounds. For Coker (2-6 overall), forward Selena
Davis was the only player in double figure points. She had 14 points and
added seven rebounds.
In addition to Guarneri’s fireworks, Wingate freshman center Veronica Taylor had
13 points. On the perimeter, Bulldog junior guard Samantha Dailey had 14 points,
while senior point guard Ginny Boggess had 13 points and six rebounds.
The Cobras return to CVAC play next Thursday, January 9, at Erskine College. The game is the first of a double header against the Flying Fleet and will tip off at 5:30 PM. The men’s game will follow at 7:30 PM.
