Cobras Defeated 74-50

Hartsville, SC - Coker succumbed to Queens College 74-50 Saturday afternoon in women's collegiate basketball. The Cobras played with QC for the first 15 minutes of the opening half but struggled to close out the period and never could get back into the game. The Cobras drop to 2-18 overall and 2-12 in the CVAC while the Royals improve to 13-8 and 10-4 in the conference.

Coker trailed 20-16 with 6:36 to go but Queens went on a 12-2 run in the final minutes to grab a 32-18 lead at the break. The Cobras were unable to stop QC, allowing the Royals to shoot 43 percent from the field, and couldn't keep up on offense, managing only 25 percent shooting themselves. CC made up for its offensive shortcomings with its best foul shooting display of the season, connecting on 21-26 attempts for 81 percent.

Sophomore's Frederica McClary and Leanne Chandler led the Cobras with 11 points each, and attacked the boards for five and eight rebounds respectively. Classmate Selena Davis finished the game with nine points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
