Coker Defeated At Queens
Charlotte, NC - Coker fell 60-36 at Queens College Saturday evening in women's collegiate basketball. The Cobras stayed with the Royals in the first half but were outscored 36-12 in the second in the defeat. Coker drops to 1-8 overall and 1-3 in the CVAC, while QC improves to 5-5 and 3-1 in conference.
The Cobras held Queens to 38 percent shooting in the first half and went into the break tied 24-24. However, the Royals found the basket in the second period and shot 52 percent to put CC away. Sophomore Leanne Chandler led Coker in the game with eight points and five rebounds. Classmate Frederica McClary had eight points and four boards and junior Lou Brunson finished with five points and a team-best seven rebounds.
The Cobras travel to Mt. Olive this Monday, January 14 to face the Trojans at 5:30 PM.
