Turnovers Cost Coker At Mt. Olive.

Mount Olive, NC - Coker lost 72-55 at CVAC rival Mt. Olive Monday evening in women's collegiate basketball. CC could not overcome 30 turnovers in the game despite playing the Lady Trojans even or better in most other aspects of the game. Coker drops to 1-9 overall and 1-4 in the CVAC, while MOC improves to 2-8, and 1-4 in conference.

The Cobras out-shot Mt. Olive 43-37 percent in the game and held a 39-38 advantage in rebounds. The Trojans made it the line more often, however, making 35 trips to Coker's 20. Sophomore Leanne Chandler had a breakout game for the Cobras with 16 points, 14 boards and three blocks, all career highs at CC. Classmate Frederica McClary had eight points and seven rebounds and freshman Brittany Campbell totaled a career-best nine points on 4-6 shooting.

The Cobras return home now for a three-game home stand January 17, 19, and 21. Thursday the Cobras face Barton at 5:30 PM, Saturday they meet Belmont-Abbey at 2:00 PM, and Monday Coker and Lees-McRae tip off at 5:30 PM.
