Coker Falls To Longwood
Hartsville, SC - Coker dropped its final CVAC regular season game 80-59 versus Longwood College Saturday evening in Hartsville. Coker suffered a long dry spell in the first half in which it was outscored 33-10 over the final 12:23 of the period. Coker completes the regular season with a mark of 3-22 overall and 3-16 in the conference.
The Cobras played well in the first eight minutes of the first half and outscored the Lancers 39-37 in the second half. However, CC struggled to execute for the whole game and it cost them tonight.
Sophomore Leanne Chandler led three Coker players in double-figures with 17 points and seven rebounds. Junior Lou Brunson scored 11 points and sophomore Joetta Wade contributed 10 more. Longwood's Toni Matkovich led all scorers with 19 points.
Coker will now travel to Wilson, NC to face Barton College in the first round of the CVAC tournament. CC will face the Bulldogs Monday, February 25, at 7:00 PM.
