Coker Falls 6-3 To Wingate

Wingate, NC - The Bulldogs won their 12th match in a row (dating to last season) in the afternoon’s second match, a 6-3 victory over Coker College. Wingate sophomore forward Robert Dawson had three goals for the winners. The 2002 South Atlantic Conference “freshman of the year,” Dawson has five goals on the season.

Wingate scored four times in 10 minutes late in the first half to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 halftime advantage. Dawson had the match-winner on a rebound shot at the 44:08 mark, giving Wingate a 3-2 lead. Dawson added a penalty kick 17 seconds later to make it 4-2.

Freshman forward Edson Elcock had two goals for Wingate (2-0-0 overall). For Coker (0-1-1 overall), junior forward Gibson Baafour (North Augusta, S.C.) had two goals.
