Cobras Fall At Wingate
Wingate, NC - Wingate University senior guard Djuan Hankins hit 18 of his game-high 25 points in the second half as the Bulldogs topped visiting Coker College 88-72 Tuesday night in men's collegiate basketball. Coker drops to 1-2 on the season, while WU improves to 2-0 overall.
Junior Charlie Ludwig had a break-out game in Cuddy Arena with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Ludwig went 7-11 from the field and was 10-12 from the charity stripe. Senior Derrall Beason scored 16 points and sophomore Terry Whitaker continued his comeback from last year’s knee injury with 10 points and four rebounds in only 12 minutes of work. Junior Andre Blackwell made his first start of the year and collected a team-best five steals.
The Cobras begin CVAC play at home against Pfeiffer University on Monday, December 2, at 7:30 PM.
