International Student Admissions
Many
of Coker's faculty and students have studied and traveled internationally
and the College welcomes applications from international students.
International
applicants should have completed (or be in the process of completing)
a traditional college preparatory course of study equivalent to
the requirements of a U.S. high school diploma. International applicants
are required to take the TOEFL exam. A paper-based score of 500
or a computer-based score of 173 is generally acceptable for admission
to the College. All athletes are required to take the SAT. All
documents must be official and must be translated in English.
Coker awards
scholarships to international students, but international students
should be prepared to pay the majority of their college expenses.
Your scholarship status will be determined after your official
school records and test scores have been received.
The total cost
of attending Coker College for 2009-2010 is approximately US $29,574.
This total includes tuition, fees, room, food, insurance, books,
and miscellaneous expenses. It also includes a required US $650
deposit. This deposit will be used as an emergency fund ($500)
for the student and room key deposit ($150). All unused funds will
be refunded to the student upon completion of studies. Also, students
are required to pay a $200 administrative fee. After
the student is accepted and the Certification of Finances Form,
immunization records, and deposit is received, Coker College will
issue the student an I-20 to secure a student visa to study only
at Coker.
