Behavioral
& Social Sciences:
Expect Great Things
Whether
you dream of a career in politics or law, or envision yourself as
an advocate for social change, the goal of our program is to provide
you with a solid understanding of the theories and practical applications
of behavioral and social science. Major in behavioral and social
science and you will be well prepared for a career that requires
the ability to interpret and organize data, evaluate and solve problems,
and communicate effectively. The theories you learn and the experiences
you have will help you to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
with compassion and understanding.
Coker’s Center
for Research in Leadership and Community Development will provide
a platform for educational opportunities in applied leadership
for our students and the community at large. Studying leadership
models coupled with the application of leadership skills will not
only strengthen the connection between the classroom and other
learning, but will also distinguish Coker graduates in the job
market.
“Not
only is the psychology program at Coker exceptional with
its variety of subject matter, but the professors are diverse
and well-rounded. Each professor has his or her own specialty,
which gives each student a chance to develop their own understanding
and interest in the
different areas of psychology.” -
