Art: Expect Great Things
Major in art at Coker College and you may select from four concentrations: fine arts, graphic design, photography or art education. In each case you will receive a solid foundation in both studio skills and computer technology that emphasizes content and quality of expression. Our nationally recognized faculty encourages experimentation with a variety of media, working side-by-side with you to provide technical support and to challenge your creativity. You won’t spend all of your time in class. Plan on trips to visit museums, galleries and special exhibitions. Professional artists visit on a regular basis. For those studying art education, you will work with children starting freshman year, culminating in student teaching during your final semester. Student teaching provides valuable classroom experience. GRAPHIC DESIGN: develop skills and experience in design theory, typography, computer-aided design and production.
