The
Charles W. & Joan S. Coker Library-Information Technology
Center opened
in January 2008. The
hub of academic life at the College, this state-of-the-art
facility provides unparalleled access to learning
and teaching resources by merging the traditional library
with the educational potential of the Internet and new technology.
Located on campus between East
Home Avenue and East College Avenue, the Center is named
in honor of industrialist and philanthropist Charles W.
Coker and his spouse, civic leader Joan S. Coker.
The
total cost for the Center is $10 million for construction
and landscaping, including the College’s new
campus entrance, equipment, furniture, and $1 million
to increase the library collection.
The
40,000-square foot, two-story facility houses a large
collection of books, periodicals, musical recordings, videos,
CDa, and DVDs.
