Hello everyone and Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful 2004 and enjoyable holiday season. Below are comments from some of our classmates from the class of 1998.

Mirah White Welday:
Kurt and I moved to Goose Creek, SC in July 2004 and Kurt is in his final stage of Naval Nuclear Power Training School. We are living on base at the Naval Weapons Station Charleston and enjoying it. We should receive orders to a new permanent duty station after Kurt graduates from nuke school in May. I finally left GSSM after six years and I am now at Charleston Southern University working in the acquisitions dept at the library. On Jan 2, Kurt and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary...how time flies! I hope everyone from the class of '98 has a great 2005!

Shemeki Ketter:
Hello it’s me, Shemeki Ketter. Just want you all to know I am still living in Hartsville and am employed at the News Journal in Florence. I’m the proud mother of 2 beautiful boys, Jerome 4 and Terrence 1. They have brought so much joy and pleasure into my life. I’m still living the single life. I’m in the process of pursuing my master's in business administration and marketing, so wish me luck.

Jack Kirven:
I’ve been BUSY... I moved to New York City for a second time to start a dance company there called the Royal Corkscrew Theatre. It was fun, but I've moved back to South Carolina and am looking to get back into education. Right now I’m writing novel, I’ve published a book about dance education, and I’m editing a movie for use in a performance work. Becky Miller is living in Indianapolis now and she is writing a lot. That’s all from my end!

Mike Corn:
Wish I had something fun to report...still just coaching here at Tusculum...and by the way, you know we are finally growing up when the alumni letter wants to know what's new with "you and your family"....Best wishes, Mike.

Ashley Pruett:
Hey everyone! I am still living in Atlanta and working at ASHRAE, Inc. as the Manager of Student Activities. Other than the hellacious traffic, I love living here and enjoy the madness. Have a wonderful new year.

Tanya Keith:
All is well on my end! I'm still working in Charlotte, NC as the Human Resources Manager for Atlantic Envelope Company. I received my PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification in December which I'm really excited about. Hope all is well with everyone!

Greeting Class of 2000,

I hope 2005 is turning out to be a fantastic year for everyone. Let’s get down to business.

Reagan Doster Miles is working on her doctorate in educational leadership through Nova Southeastern University in Florida. The classes are through a cohort that meets in Charleston. She will complete her degree in July 2006.

Brenda Tallon Bradshaw is in her second semester of dental hygiene school and already is working with patients. She made straight A’s her first semester. Arthur claims his good study habits are rubbing off on her. The Bradshaws went on a trip to New Orleans over the holidays and saw Virginia Tech play in the Sugar Bowl.

Keelea LeJeune, who lives in Pensacola, Fla., said she’s doing well. She endured a massive hit from Hurricane Ivan last year and said she’s still in the recovery process. She still works as a volunteer coordinator at Covenant Hospice. She’s also pursuing her MBA in health care management.

As for me, I made a big change in 2005. I left my job at a local newspaper to start my own business as a freelance writer. Things are going well. The best part is my commute. Now all I have to do is walk to my home computer.

Well, we have a short column this time. Make sure you send in something for the next edition of class news. Some of your e-mail addresses have changed, so please send the new ones to me so that I can keep you on the news list.

All the best,

Holly

This year the 2003 class co-reps were Wes Daniels and Emily Marovich. We decided to work together to get updated information from some of our classmates. Through e-mails and phone conversations this is what we found out!

Rob Christenson and Jessica Pendigraf just recently got engaged, so congrats to them! They are living together along with Jeff Baker and Catcher, Rob’s brown lab puppy in Antioch, TN. Rob and Jeff are still with Dell and Jessica just recently joined a sister company for Dell called Dell Financial Services where she is training and coaching the reps on leasing and loans. And from what Jessica tells us, she really loves her job! Rob is a Server and Storage Consultant for Dell Inc and Jeff works in the Consumer Sales Department. Jeff just recently got back from the Philippines a few weeks ago, where he helped implement a new Dell site in Manila. He worked for two months training, coaching, and managing new hire reps. He told us it was a pretty amazing experience.

Rob, Jessica, and Jeff’s new address:
7493 Maggie Dr.
Antioch, TN 37013

We have also been able to keep up with Courtney Smith who just started a new job as a Group Sales Representative with the Bridgeport Bluefish (Independent Minor League Baseball Team) located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Bridgeport is located an hour outside of New York City and an hour and a half from Boston. Courtney is living with a guy from Louisiana, who is working with the Bluefish as well. Courtney was able to spend New Years in Time Square (right in the middle), which she said was probably the best New Years ever! Courtney wants everyone to know that if anyone would like to visit the north...just give her a call or send an email!

Jack Healey is working full time as a nursing assistant in surgery at a hospital in Cleveland. Jack is also in school again to be a paramedic and firefighter. He hopes to move back down south once he is finished with all his schooling to live and work.

Another soon to be Firefighter is Ray Marrero. Ray is currently living in Miami where he is in school to be a firefighter and possibly a paramedic as well. Ray loves the schooling and is excited that he will be done in a few short months. He is also helping his mom out with her business.

Mike Steinberg is still living and teaching in New York. Matt Zagari is currently working construction in New Jersey. Mike and Matt were able to go out to Las Vegas for New Years, hopefully they won big!

As for Eddy Frey, he is currently living in Hartsville and working as the Assistant Manager at Sonic.

Kimberly Mallard and Grady Decell ’04 just got engaged this summer and are getting married in June of this year. Congratulations to both of you! Kimberly is still teaching 4th grade at Lexington Elementary School and Grady is teaching 8th grade at Lexington Middle School and coaching JV soccer. Best of luck Kimberly and Grady on the wedding!

As for Tiffany Byrd, she is back in Hartsville working at Sonoco.

Cara Wilkerson is still living and going to school in TN. Although she hates that she is still going to school, she does love what she is doing. Cara is still seriously dating Conrad Deese, who will graduate this year from Coker.

The Canadian, Erin Earle, is still living in Australia and enjoying her summer break from school. She will start her second year of grad school the beginning of March. She is very excited about the fact that her family is coming to visit her in February, which is the first time she will be seeing them after a year!

Amber Douglas and D Brown will be getting married March 26th of this year. Some of our old classmates will be in the wedding party including, Courtney Smith, Cara Wilkerson, Wes Daniels, and Dani Chaplin ’02. So congratulations to both of them and best of luck with the wedding.

As for Emily she is currently finishing up her last semester of graduate school. She will graduate from Florida Tech in May with her M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Her plan is to then move to Texas to work. She also plans to travel to Australia to visit Erin Earle for a few weeks in June.

Wes is still working in Charleston at Charleston Southern University. He started grad school this semester. He is just now realizing grad school isn’t as fun as undergrad! He is also playing a good bit of golf and traveling with work. Wes will be in New York, Florida, Connecticut, and Nashville in the next few months. He is also staying busy with being in 5 weddings this year as well, or as he says being broke since he has to rent so many tuxes.

We loved hearing from all our old classmates. Please feel free to keep us updated or let us know of any address or e-mail changes. You can contact us at emilyvb8@aol.com (Emily) or wdaniels@csuniv.edu (Wes) at any time. Thanks for all your updates.

Take care,

Wes Daniels & Emily Marovich
