Greetings Class of 1995:

I hope everyone is doing well here in the new year. Things are great in the Charlotte area. I got to return to New York in December for the NASCAR championship banquet as our race team took top honors for the season. I also became a board member recently for the Cabarrus Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals and am enjoying the opportunity to expand my career as well as make a difference in our community.
I heard from Heather Lawson Auger in the fall. She and her husband Marc have been in Atlanta for about six years. They had twins on May 20, 2006 - a boy named Liam and a girl named Daphne. She’s been working at AGL Resources (Natural Gas Company) for the last four years and is currently their accounting manager. She says she can't complain...life is good.

That’s all I have for now. I’d love to hear from you so please drop me a line. Also please remember Coker by sending a donation to the annual scholarship fund.

Ciao,
Heather

   Happy 2008 everyone!

Stephanie Carwile Parker says life has been great in the “Big State of Texas. She has a two-year-old son who is “absolutely amazing and so much fun!” She is currently working for the state as an investigator.

Congratulations to Shannon Brewer who got married in August. She is currently living and teaching at a public school in Colorado.

Juliette C. Maybay will be graduating in May with her Vet degree and getting married in May to the love of her life.

Sabrina Wotier Peterson says that she and Nathan are staying busy as usual. She is working as a National Manager for M Hayes Disability Management Company, which is the same company she has been with since graduate school. Work is crazy, but she loves it. Nathan is staying busy taking people's money as a Certified Financial Sales Assistant with Morgan Keegan in Charlotte. They are expecting their first little bundle on February 2nd. Her name will be Tierre Brielyn. Congratulations Petersons!

Marc-Andre ’00 and Ashley Vick Lapointe are happy to announce the birth of their son Harrison Louis Lapointe. He was born on 08/27/07. They also hope everyone is doing well.

Once again, Joel McEachran’s message to everyone can only be expressed in his own words. Enjoy! “Well Blayke, I am still a pimp, they say pimpin' ain't easy, but I make it happen!! News eh! hmmmmmm Well I am living in Trinidad down in the West Indies, otherwise known as the Caribbean!!!!!!!! They still have coconut trees down here and the weather is still always warm. No children or wife. I am the GM of a Fire and security company down here and we represent General Electric for the region along with Samsung and other brands! So I guess the Coker education is somehow paying off ;) Yeah and that’s about it! I may be going to Australia this year to play in the world amateur golf championships so that should be a blast! Hope all is well.”

Congratulations also go to Summer Beebe who celebrated the birth of her son, Zane Charles Beebe on December 3rd.  The proud mom says that he is, of course, “the most beautiful son in the whole wide world!” She also finished her Master's degree in May 2007.

My life has been very busy lately! On January 4th I married my wonderful boyfriend and best friend, Eduardo Turrubiartes. And yes, that is my new last name. I think I will officially be “Blayke T.” from now on. It was a fabulous weekend. It was nice to see Joni Roberts, Nathan and Sabrina Wotier Peterson, Brent Freeman, and Amy Kesler at the reception. Amy even made my amazing wedding cake. Eduardo and I are living in Charlotte in a cute little house with our dog Bella. Life is good.

Take care everyone! Good luck sticking to those resolutions and keep us posted on all of your adventures!
Blayke

Hello Classmates of 2007!
Can you believe it’s almost been a year since we’ve graduated? How time flies! As many of you are aware, Ladrica Jones-Christain, Daniell Johnson, and I (Kristin Caswell) have the honor of being your class representatives and collecting all the news we can about you guys to put in the Commentary. Thank you very much to those that responded to our emails. We hope to hear from a lot more of you in the future!

Since graduation the class of 2007 has been busy! Matthew Ferguson responded to let us know he is currently in Indonesia as a Fulbright Scholar for the U.S. State Department. Back on a more local side, Amanda Wright lives in Columbia where she works for an insurance company, as well as waitresses at Spring Valley Country Club. She is involved in some small modeling work with Carolina Talent, based out of Charlotte. In August Amanda plans on moving to New York where she will pursue a dancing career. Good luck Amanda!

A huge congratulation goes out to Pamela Taylor Ward ’75, on the engagement of her daughter, Brandy Ward, who just recently got engaged to Andy Jackson of Clover. Andy attends college. Brandy is a graduate student.  Best of wishes to you guys!

Sharolyn Lester and Stefanie Wright both shared their good news of life after Coker. Sharolyn is enrolled at Webster University and pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is being hired by Trinity Behavioral Care as a Drug and Alcohol Clinical Counselor. Stefanie has a job working as a Passport Specialist with the United States Department of State. Her and her boyfriend of five years recently got married and live in Charleston. Stefanie says “Life is going well and I hope that my fellow Coker Alums are enjoying prosperous lives as well.”

As for your representatives, Daniell Johnson is living in Hartsville and is a Mathematics teacher at Hartsville High School. She is also the JV cheerleading coach, a National Honor Society sponsor, and a tutor.

Since graduation I have moved to Greenville where I work as a Media Coordinator for a nationwide print media company.

That’s all the news we have for now, but please write, email, or call and let us know the good, the bad, and the ugly! In efforts to help gather news and keep everyone connected, an alumni group has been created on Facebook. Simply enough it’s called Coker Alumni: Class of 2007. Please join, get others to join, and fill us in on the happenings of you and your classmates! Until next time we wish you much luck and happy days.

   Sincerely,
Kristin Caswell, Daniell Johnson & Ladrica Jones-Christain
